The concert reveals the metaphysical dimension of music, in the same way that the geometric void surfaces in the works of Stephen Antonakos suggest a metaphysical presence. Music activates unknown forces of human perception that transcend conscious control—instinctive reactions, often inexplicable to the listener.

The work “Mater Tremenda” by Ioannis Angelakis contains traces of an indelible religious tradition, reframing its core through a sound that emerges as tactile matter, physically experienced. Fragments from Handel’s Salve Regina appear distorted and transformed, like blurred memories of a ritual that survives only through sonic resonance and transformation.

In “The Hand Angels” by Tianyu Zou, the relationships between movement, sound, and space are perceived through the presence of the hand as an interface—an instrument of touch, labor, expression, and resistance. The work highlights fragility, imperfection, and unpredictable failure, revealing performance as a delicate network of interactions between body, instrument, and technology.

Inspired by the poetry of Samson Rakas, the work “Thaleron Chimera” by Iason Maroulis brings forth a paradoxical anthropocentric metaphysics. The boundaries between acoustic and electronic sound blur, and the narrative oscillates between immersing the audience in the sonic world of the piece and reminding them of its artificial nature, allowing the music to retain its magical dimension while simultaneously exposing the human origins of its creation.

Together, these works explore sound not only as music, but also as memory, gesture, and physical presence—revealing the invisible forces that connect imagination, the body, and perception.
