SONIC CHROMAS | Scores of Space

  • 01.12.26
    , 20:30

An evening dedicated to the encounter between architectural thinking and contemporary musical practice, in which drawings by architect Christos Papoulias are transformed into open graphic scores, serving as the starting point for two live performances.

Four distinguished musicians, with an established presence in contemporary, improvisational and experimental music, are invited to approach the drawings not as static images, but as dynamic fields for interpretation, sound and gesture.

Bassist Nefeli Stamato giannopoulou meets Andrea Monopoli, working with DIY electronic circuits and synthesizers, while Thanos Polymeneas on double bass joins Michalis Moschoutis on guitars.

Through these two distinct sonic encounters, the evening explores the boundaries between notation and interpretation, structure and freedom, image and sound.

The architectural drawings become an intermediary space where composition, improvisation and personal interpretation coexist, revealing new ways in which music can emerge from a visual form and enter into dialogue with architecture, drawing and contemporary artistic practice.

Performers: Nefeli Stamatogiannopoulou (double bass) & Andrea Monopoli (DIY electronics, synthesizers); Thanos Polymeneas (double bass) & Michalis Moschoutis (guitars)

Pre-concert electronic sound installation in the exhibition space: Nicoletta Chatzopoulou
