Δύο πολυβραβευμένοι Αμερικάνοι μουσικοί, η Elmira Darvarova (Metropolitan Opera της Ν. Υόρκης) και ο Howard Wall (Φιλαρμονική της Ν. Υόρκης) παρουσιάζουν ένα μοναδικό πρόγραμμα μουσικής για βιολί και κόρνο που διατρέχει πέντε αιώνες.

Το πρόγραμμα Μουσική από 5 αιώνες (17ος – 21ος) αποτελεί ένα εκλεκτικό πρόγραμμα που παρουσιάζει αριστουργήματα από πολλές εποχές και στυλ – από το μπαρόκ, την Αναγέννηση και την κλασσική έως τον Ρομαντισμό, την σύγχρονη, την  τζαζ, τη μπλουζ, το τανγκο και τη ροκ μουσική. Καλλιτέχνες είναι οι υποψήφιοι για Grammy βιολιστές Elmira Darvarova (πρώην πρώτο βιολί της Metropolitan Opera στην Ν. Υόρκη) και ο Howard Wall (κόρνο, Φιλαρμονική της Ν. Υόρκης). Και οι δύο καλλιτέχνες έχουν λάβει το χρυσό μετάλλιο από τα Global Music Awards του 2018.

ELMIRA DARVAROVA, Violin (former concertmaster, Metropolitan Opera):

Grammy®-nominated concert violinist, an award -winning performer (Gold Medal at the Global Music Awards in 2017 & 2018) and a former Concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York. She started playing the violin at the age of 3, gave her first recital at 4, and made her debut as a soloist with an orchestra when she was 8. She studied with Yfrah Neaman, Henryk Szeryng and Josef Gingold, and created a sensation when she became the first ever (and so far only) woman-concertmaster in the history of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. With the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra she has toured Europe, Japan and the United States, and was heard on the MET’s live weekly international radio broadcasts, television broadcasts, CDs and laser discs on the Sony, Deutsche Grammophon and EMI labels. She has also performed with the MET Chamber Ensemble in Carnegie Hall. Having appeared in recitals and as soloist on 5 continents, she has been concerto soloist with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and with numerous other orchestras. She has given recitals and master classes at many festivals world-wide, and has performed chamber music with James Levine, Janos Starker, Gary Karr and Pascal Rogé. She has recorded numerous CDs for several labels, and one of her discs was named a “Recording of the Year” in 2015 by MusicWeb International. Elmira Darvarova is the founder and leader of the New York Piano Quartet, and performs with the Delphinium Trio, the Amram Ensemble, the Quinteto del Fuego, and in a duo with Argentine pianist Fernando Otero. She is also Artistic Director of the New York Chamber Music Festival. Gramophone Magazine published an interview with Elmira Darvarova on the occasion of her world-premiere recording of Vernon Duke’s violin concerto (composed for Heifetz 80 years ago) with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. The Strad Magazine praised her “silky-smooth voluptuous sound” and her “intoxicating tonal beauty”, while The Chicago Tribune hailed her “flawless technique and musicality”. HOWARD WALL, Horn (New York Philharmonic):

Α native of Pittsburgh, joined the horn section of the New York Philharmonic in 1994, after having been a member of The Philadelphia Orchestra for almost 20 years, and before that, a member of the Phoenix and Denver symphonies. He also performs and records with the All-Star Orchestra. An award-winning performer (Gold Medal, 2018 Global Music Awards), he has appeared as soloist with the New York Philharmonic in New York, as well as on New York Philharmonic tours in Europe and South America. He appears regularly at the New York Chamber Music Festival, and
performs with the Delphinium Trio, the Amram Ensemble, and in a duo with his wife, violinist Elmira Darvarova. He can be heard on several CDs and recently recorded Poulenc’s Elégie for Horn and Piano with world-renowned French pianist Pascal Rogé. Mr. Wall has also recorded David Amram’s Blues and Variations for Thelonious Monk for Solo Horn, and gave its European premiere in Paris. His most recent CD is “Music for French Horn by Phillip Ramey”. Howard Wall began playing the horn at age ten and earned his bachelor’s degree in music performance at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. He made his Carnegie Hall debut at age 19 performing Schumann’s “Konzertstück” as soloist with orchestra.
